Pencil, paper, black-and-white love note

I like everything about this photo: the colours, the texture of the paper, the hand-writing. It’s black-and-white, but it’s heart-warming.

This set is by San-x, and it’s adorable.

Wikipedia informs me that  the main character is “a spirit who hates the cold and loves hot dumplings. He’s a faerie who is found at places where the temperature is over 30 degrees Celsius - like tea, hot food and such. He is also called “Hot Head”. He operates in groups, and perspires 10 buckets of sweat per day. He’s not of danger to mankind - although not of much use either.”

I don’t mind, he doesn’t have to be useful. He’s got a whole stationery set for himself; that’s useful in my book.

Sometimes a simple sprinkling of glitter is enough to turn yet another piece of office stationery into something friendly and tame.

Some people’s imagination is going to give me nightmares. Do sticky notes actually go out to hunt when nobody’s looking?

These pretty toys belong to an artist, and therefore I can’t say much about them. (Can’t pain or draw or anything, see.) All I can tell is that I like how they’re all sitting together, waiting to be told what to do.

However, the author of this photo has commented it very helpfully on Flickr, so if you’re curious what’s what, you can follow the link through the photo, and find out first hand.

(Don’t forget to come back to me, though, and tell me what you think.)

This delicately patterned paper would work great in a scrapbook. I think. I don’t have a scrapbook, although I often think I’d enjoy making one.

I suppose, you could also use it as background texture in web-design, but to me the picture says “Hello, I’m beautiful paper. You want to touch me.”

I like that somewhere in the world there’s a person who looked at a packed of sticky notes, and thought: “Hey! These look like Slinkies! Let’s play with them!”

Index cards, post-its, bookmarks, highlighters...

I envy the high organisation of this reader. I’d like to emulate it; I probably even have all the necessary tools to put together my own kit like this one. (Not highlighters, though. I’m catastrophically lacking highlighters.)

However, I’d probably end up so engrossed with whatever I’m reading, that I’d forget to take notes.

I wonder how she uses the index cards. Anybody have any idea?

This stapler is coming to get me, I swear!

Scary close-up of a stapler

It’s OK, though. The staples remover will help me afterwards.

It’s coming to help, isn’t it?..
